Meet The Team




Ian is the owner and optometrist practice principal, graduating with an Optometry degree from the University of NSW with honours. He has extensive experience in the detection of eye related diseases, diabetic retinopathy and contact lens fitting. Ian is friendly, approachable and thorough and is happy to discuss your optical needs and eye health. He has been working in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie for over 35 years.

Ian worked for John F Miner for many years, gaining valuable industry knowledge. Opening his first full-scope optometry practice in Warners Bay in 1998, Ian has continued to build on his knowledge and experience. He regularly attends conferences and seminars to stay up to date with the latest technology and industry advancements.
He is married with two daughters and lives in Warners Bay.

Joining the team in 2004, Sharon has more than 30 years' experience working as a qualified optical dispenser. Sharon is constantly on the lookout for fun and interesting spectacle frames, as well as lighweight and stylish frames from our independent optical suppliers.

Sharon's passion for finding the right frame for each face is always evident. Matching spectacle frames and the latest lenses is one of the things Sharon does best, and she is happy to provide advice and recommendations on the best product for you.


A qualified optical dispenser, Tracey has been working in the industry for more than 30 years. She joined the team at Ian Emslie Optometrist in 2014, bringing extensive lens technology knowledge with her.

Tracey takes great pride in achieving customer satisfaction. Her years of experience allow her to choose the best frame and lens combination for each individual customers' needs.


Working with Ian for more than 35 years, Anne has extensive knowledge of the optical industry. Anne is responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the practice, welcoming customers to the practice and ensuring their optical and eye health needs are met.

Anne also provides assistance with the frame and lens selection process.
